Here, we are trying to share some expertise knowledge about trekking distance of Everest base camp day to day:
First day we will fly from Kathmandu airport to Lukla, Tenzing Hillary airport(2860 m) in the morning. We reach at Lukla airport about 9 am than we stop of breakfast at Lukla in a cozy restaurant after that we begin our proper walking towards our destination Phakding (2,650 m/8,694 ft) or Monjo both of them are popular area to stay. If you wish to stay at Phakding than you walk only about 3 hours & if you want to walk longer to Monjo than about 5 hours walking requested passing some bridges traditional houses, river and local farmland.
However, today from Lukla to Phakding we trek about 5.6 miles, which is about 9 km and 8.8 miles to Monjo which means 13 km.
After early breakfast at Phakding or Monjo, the trail continue along Dudh Koshi river on a suspension bridges through the lovely valley than we reach at Sagarmatha national park office where we have to entry our permit after that we just walk 15 minute further to Lunch place at Jorsalle, after fresh and warm Lunch we continue our journey along the river and very high suspension bridge over Dudh Koshi river we than Ascends to Namche bazaar (3,450) slope. It is where you are staying two night for acclimation.
Relatively day second is quite difficult than day first because we have to climb about 2 hours today before reaching Namche and even rest of the trail will be gradual up along the river on a small narrow trail so in total we are walking about 6 hours , however in total Phakding to Namche bazaar is about 12 km/7.4 miles walk and Monjo to Namche is about 8 km/4.9 Miles.
It is your rest day for acclimatization therefore, you f=going to make small sight walking about 2 Hours to Everest view Hotel. It is quite steep trail over the tree line area to Everest view hotel, where you can stop for tea/coffee and enjoy the magical high surrounding mountains and world’s tallest peak Mt. Everest(8848m).
It is our rest day anyway, so we going to walk about 3 km/1.8 Miles only and rest of the day we can make laundry, reading book and trip discussion for further up walking.
Trekking from Namche bazaar to Tyangboche IS Moderate walking day which begins with easy 2 hours walk on a wide flat trail till sanasa than the trails goes steeply down hill through the pine forest to funki thanka , where we stop for Lunch than another 2 hours steep walk to Tyagboche.
The distance between Namche and Tyangbcohe is about 12 km/7.4 miles , takes 5 to 6 hours
Tyagboche to Dingboche is one of the best days in this trek. The walking route of this part will be gradual up in general and the view of Mt. Everest is just there you can see it from your every step ahead, passes some colorful Sherpa village, streams, wide valley and surrounded Mountains.
The Distance between Tyagboche to Dngboche is about 12 km/7.4 miles, takes about 5 Hours.
At Dingboche village you will spent two night including your acclimatize day, which is really important. On this day we hike up to Nagarkhan Hill which is located just right behind Dingbcohe village. It is a best place to observe the magnificent View of Mt. Amadablam, Island peak, Lotse, Makalu and other many popped up Mountains.
If you are experience hikers than this short acclimatizing trail takes about 45 minute to go up and 30 minute to go sown to Hotel but for general trekkers it takes about hour and half to climb the hill and 45 minute descending. It’s about 3 km/1.8 miles in distance
Today we hike to Lobuche (4,910 m) which is quite high place to spend the night as it is 2nd last settlement of Everest base camp trekking. The trekking route from Dingbcohe to Lobuche is relatively fine that the first 3 hours walking will be pleasant walk along the valley till Dhugla(4650 m) than we ascend to memorial hill where we can observe world’s famous climbers memorials we than follow the wide Lobuche valley about an hour than we reach at Lobuche tea House area.
The total walking hours today is about 5 to 6 Hours and in distance is 12 km/7.4 miles
Today is the major trekking day that your feet will be there at the base of world tallest peak located at 5364 m, we begin our early walk from Lobuche to Gorakshep which is about 3 hours walking along the Glacier and rocky terrain. Gorakshep is a last settlement where we spent the night at Tea House. After reaching there we will get our room first than we have plenty of time to go to Everest base camp with your guide or porter than back to Gorakchep for sleeping, it is gorgeous part of this trek offer you just breathtaking magical views of Nuptse, Everest, Pumori, Ligdren, Khumbutse and many others around.
Today is probably the longest day and In total you will walk about 8 Hours and the distance is about 15 km/9.3 miles (Lobuche-Gorakshep- EBC-Gorakshep)
The earliest morning in this trek is today weak up at 4 am than hike to World famous view point Kalapathar(5550 m) without big back. It is a best spot from where you can see Mt. Everest in a perfect angel plus the Khubu Glacier, Ice-fall and uncountable snow cap peaks under the crystal clear blue sky.
From Gorakshep to kalapathar and trek back to Pheriche is about 7 Hours walking, takes about 18 km/11.18 miles.
After breakfast as usual we follow the trail to Namche bazaar as it is almost all day ascending except the small hill before Sanasa/Kyanjuma. You will enjoy the delightful panorama view of many massif peaks around and the trail down to Namche is much easier than way up because of Altitude.
It is about 8 Hrs walk today ad about 22 km/13.6 miles in distance
The trekking route today is just completely the same way you walked when you are on the way up. To accomplish this distance today you will pass Manjo, Phakding, Ghat and T Lukla. Your Everest base camp trekking will be finish at Lukla today where you will spent a great evening with your field staff and stay overnight there.
It is about 8 hours walking following the same trail than in a distance Namche to Lukla is about 20 km/12.4 miles.
It is last final minute to walk for this time of Everest base camp trekking. You just have to walk about 10 minute to the airport than you fly to Kathmandu over the rolling green hills and magical view of snow Cap Mountains on the right hand side of the plane. It’s about 30 minute flights. Once you land in Kathmandu airport to your hotel is about 30 minute drive than your memorable trek will be over for this time.
The Everest base camp trekking is moderate but exotic adventure experience takes around 12 days but it can be longer if you have time between 15 to 18 days towards Beautiful Gokyo valley trek beyond the Chola pass (5,416 m) or jiri to Everest base camp classic trek takes about 24 days.
The Everest base camp trekking begins from Lukla than continue up to Everest base camp takes 9 days including 2 extra days in between than another 3 long days back to Lukla, in total within a 11 night 12 days trekking you will walk about 130 km (go and back from Lukla).

Jiri to Everest base camp trek is quite long duration trip, although it is a best and more wilderness trekking trail. This trip begins from Kathmandu by bus to jiri takes about 12 hours than following the famous classic trail towards Sibalaya, Bhandara, Kinja, Lamjura, Junbesi, Ringmo, Nunthala, Painya, Surlke than Arrive Lukla where you can see the popular trekking path to EBC.
Jiri to Lukla is about 7 days walk walking up and down hill every day passes some traditional Sherpa town, local farmland, rivers, monastery and buddies curtain. Trekking from jiri to Everest base camp the first 7 days will be very tranquil and everything natural while you are walking furthermore, if you are here in Nepal to explore the real mountain life, their way of living, farm land, and other tradition than no doubt this trip provides you all you wanted to know from the country.
