This 11-day trek takes you around the mighty Mount Manaslu (8,163m), the eighth-highest peak in the world, through remote villages, lush forests, and high alpine terrain.
Your journey begins in Kathmandu, where our professional team from Safe Holiday Adventure Nepal will prepare you for your trek, ensuring all necessary permits, equipment, and arrangements with experienced Manaslu guides and porters are in place. From Kathmandu, you’ll take a scenic 6–7 hour drive by bus or jeep to Soti Khola or Machhakhola via Arughat, winding through terraced hills, rivers, and small villages, setting the tone for the adventure ahead.
The trek starts gently along the Budhi Gandaki River, surrounded by lush forests of bamboo, rhododendron, and pine. The path passes through quaint villages where local Gurung and Bhote communities greet trekkers warmly, offering a glimpse into traditional mountain life. Along the way, tea houses provide cozy stops for meals and overnight stays, where you can experience local hospitality and delicious home-cooked food.
As you ascend, the terrain gradually becomes steeper, and the majestic peaks of the Himalayas begin to dominate the skyline. You will encounter Pungyen, Ngadi Chuli, and Himal Chuli, with snow-capped ridges glistening under the sun. This section of the trek is a perfect opportunity for an acclimatization day, allowing your body to adjust to the increasing altitude and prepare for higher passes. Your Manaslu guide will help pace the trek safely, and a porter ensures your heavy gear is carried, letting you focus on the scenery and trekking experience.
Continuing, the trail weaves through remote Lho and Samagaun villages, where the architecture of traditional stone houses, mani walls, and monasteries enrich your journey. The vibrant culture and welcoming smiles of locals provide a unique insight into Himalayan life, making every stop memorable. From Samagaun, you will enjoy panoramic views of Manaslu (8,163m) rising dramatically above the valleys, alongside peaks like Himalchuli (7,893m), Ngadi Chuli (7,871m), and Cheo Himal (6,840m).
The trek reaches its highlight with the crossing of Larke Pass (5,160m), the highest point of the Manaslu Circuit. Manaslu Circuit with Safe Holiday Adventure in Dec-Jan’26
Our experience with Rupesh and MaMa was very positive. From the first day when he picked us up from the hotel, we knew we were in good hands and we had a shot to complete what we now learned was a very challenging itenary of completing the circuit in 9 days instead of the usual 14 days also in challenging winter conditions. Not only was the overall trip well organized and very enjoyable but also in the difficult moments including ascending to Larke La pass I could not have asked for more support. I can simply say that without the team support we would not have been able to achieve it and their overall focus on safety was also greatly appreciated. This is definitely a once in a lifetime experience that I will remember for the rest of my life and I definitely have them to thank for making it possible. Thank you to the team and would greatly encourage others to do so as well.
