Budget Annapurna Base Camp Trek Overview: Overview

Safe Holiday Adventure offers a Budget Annapurna base Camp Trek that is perfect for those who want to explore the Annapurna region of Nepal and who don’t have time to follow the classic route via Ghorepani poon hill, plus those who have limited time and a budget. This budget-friendly 5-day ABC trek has been specially designed for trekkers who are short on time but still want to experience the thrill of reaching the Annapurna Base Camp(ABC-4130M).

The trek begins with a 2.5-hour drive from Pokhara to Kyumi, a popular starting point for trekking in recent years. From Kyumi, the trek follows an easy, gradual walk through the beautiful local fields and local houses, and along the Modi River to Jhinu Danda(1,750m), where you will spend the first night in a guest house. The next day, after breakfast, the trek becomes more challenging as it follows steep stone-made trails up to Chhomrung(2,050m), a beautiful and clean Gurung village that offers breathtaking views of Annapurna South(7,219M), Hiuchuli(6,141M), Fishtail(7,993M), and Gangapurna mountains.

From Chhomrung, the trail descends steeply for about 25 minutes before crossing the Modi River over a suspension bridge and continuing steeply to Lower Sinuwa(2,030m), a peaceful Gurung village with several guest houses. If you don’t have time to go further up, you can stay at Lower Sinuwa, where you can enjoy good food, Hot showers, and friendly people. If you continue your journey, you will reach Upper Sinuwa(2350m), a magnificent spot to witness the mountain view, Valley view, and rolling green hills.

The journey from Upper Sinuwa goes through the Rhododendron and Bamboo forest, with gradual descent trails to the Bamboo(2,350m) Village. Today, you will not encounter any local houses or villages along the ABC route, only guest houses and lodges after passing Upper Sinuwa. You can stop here for lunch. The trail from Bamboo winds through dense forest alongside the river for approximately 50 minutes until you arrive at Dovan village. A further 25-minute stroll leads you to Upper Dovan, where three quaint tea houses await.

From Dovan, the trek passes through the Bamboo forest, magical waterfalls, the sounds of the Modi River, and birds singing. A 1.5-hour walk from Dovan(2,450m) takes you to the Himalayas, where there are few guest houses but with quite a large capacity.

From the Himalaya settlement, the trek becomes steep as it follows along the river and passes Hincu Cave, but offers stunning views of Fishtail Mountain. It is recommended to be well-informed before starting the trek from The Himalaya Village, as there might be snow avalanches between Himalaya and Deurali(3,210m), but this is an exceptional case. The 1.5-hour walk takes you to Deurali Village, where there are more than five small guest houses.

The trail continues to follow along the Modi Khola River, passing some locally made bridges and stone steps. After about two hours of walking, you will reach Machhapurnahhre Base Camp (MBC) at 3700 meters, which is the last settlement of the ABC trek. You are now very close to reaching Annapurna Base Camp, and there are no tree-lined areas today; just open sky and the surrounding Annapurna Himalayas.

Upon reaching ABC (4130m), you can enjoy comfortable accommodations and delicious food. Next to the lodges, there are magnificent spots to sit and take a very up-close view of Annapurna South, Hiuchuli, Fishtail, Gangapurna, Fang, Annapurna I-8091m, and a huge glacier. The next morning, you can savor the golden sunrise view before retracing your steps to the Jhinu Danda Jeep/Bus station, where your trek ends.

If you’re not too tired and have some extra time, you can extend your trek from Jhinu Hot Springs to Landruk or Tolka. The trails and scenery in this area are beautiful, and you’ll find peaceful paths and charming tea houses. You could also consider extending your trek to the Mardi Himal base campAustralian Camp and Sarangkot. These routes are easy and offer stunning views.

When you’re trekking on a budget to Annapurna Base Camp, you’ll find simple places to stay along the way. These are referred to as guesthouses and lodges. They’re not fancy, but they have what you need: a clean bed, warm blankets, and sometimes hot showers.

During busy times, like when people are trekking, it might be hard to get your room. You might have to share with other trekkers. It’s all part of the adventure!

Since there aren’t many places to stay, it’s smart to book ahead, especially in the busy seasons. If you have a Guide or Porter with you, they can help arrange a place to stay a day before you get there.

And here’s a tip: bring your sleeping bag for extra comfort. Don’t forget snacks and water to keep you going during your trek. With these things, you’re ready for an awesome, budget-friendly trip to Annapurna Base Camp!

Physical fitness requirements for the Budget Annapurna Base Camp Trek

The Budget Annapurna Base Camp Trek needs you to be fit for walking uphill and downhill over 7-10 days. You should have stamina for 5-7 hours of walking each day and be flexible to avoid injuries. Mental readiness is important for high altitudes, and acclimatization is necessary above 4,000 meters. Exercise regularly before the trek, and adjust your pace to your fitness level. If you have health issues, talk to a doctor first. Enjoy the beautiful views and listen to your body while trekking.

Weather conditions in the Annapurna region during the trekking season

The weather at Annapurna Base Camp changes depending on the time of year. The best times to visit are Spring (March to May) and Autumn (September to November). During these seasons, the weather is usually nice and clear, with temperatures that are just right for hiking. But be ready for some cold mornings and evenings, especially at higher elevations.

Winter (December to February) can be tricky because of avalanches, so it’s safe. In Summer (June to August), heavy rain and thunderstorms can make hiking difficult and the trails muddy. So, if you’re planning a trip, it’s a good idea to check the weather forecast and listen to local advice for a safe and enjoyable journey.

A Dream Trip to Nepal with Safe Holiday Adventure

When I first heard about Nepal, I immediately thought of mountains, peace, and adventure. But it wasn’t until I met my friend Rosna, who had already been to Nepal, that this dream truly started. She shared her experiences with such passion that soon we decided to go together — me, one Lukadu, and a group of four people — and choose Safe Holiday Adventure for our trek.

We did the Annapurna Base Camp Trek via Ghorepani, and it turned out to be one of the most beautiful journeys of my life.

From the moment we arrived, Safe Holiday Adventure took care of everything — permits, transport, comfortable tea houses, and delicious food throughout the trek. Every day brought new scenery: green rice terraces, rhododendron forests, charming villages, and finally the incredible snow-covered peaks of the Annapurna range. Watching the sunrise from Poon Hill and standing at Machapuchare Base Camp and Annapurna Base Camp were moments I will never forget.

Our guide and porter were absolutely wonderful — kind, professional, patient, and always caring. The guide constantly checked if we were feeling okay and made sure everyone felt safe and comfortable. We never felt rushed, and the whole trek felt relaxed and joyful.

One moment that truly touched my heart was when the team surprised me with a birthday cake during the trek. Celebrating my birthday in the mountains, surrounded by nature and such caring people, is something I will cherish forever.

I also really appreciated how Safe Holiday Adventure respects local culture and supports local tea houses, which made the experience feel authentic and meaningful.

Overall, this trek was perfectly organized, inspiring, and full of beautiful memories. I highly recommend Safe Holiday Adventure to anyone planning a trek in Nepal. I would absolutely choose them again and will gladly recommend them to my friends and family.

Thank you for making my Nepal dream come true

I recently completed the Annapurna Base Camp Trek via Ghorepani with Safe Holiday Adventure Pvt. Ltd., and it was an experience I will cherish forever. From start to finish, the team meticulously managed every detail, ensuring the journey was seamless and thoroughly enjoyable.

Our guide, Muskan, was outstanding – exceptionally knowledgeable, friendly, and always willing to help. Wonderful management from safe holiday adventure team, Thank you

We just completed the incredible 11-day Annapurna Circuit Trek with Safe Holiday Adventure, and I honestly don’t have enough words to describe how amazing the experience was! I came with my husband John, our son Weller, and from start to finish, everything was perfectly arranged by Santosh, who runs the company.

From the moment we landed in Kathmandu, Santosh made us feel like family. He was warm, professional, and incredibly knowledgeable. Every detail of the trek was well planned—from comfortable transportation and cozy teahouse stays to delicious meals and helpful advice throughout the journey.

The trek itself was breathtaking! Each day offered something new—lush forests, waterfalls, traditional villages, high mountain passes, and, of course, the stunning views of Annapurna, Dhaulagiri, and Tilicho Peak. Crossing the Thorong La Pass at 5,416 meters was challenging but one of the most rewarding experiences of our lives.

What really made the difference was our guide, Santosh. His passion for the mountains and deep connection with the local people added so much richness to the journey. He was patient, caring, and always made sure we were safe, comfortable, and enjoying every step. Our porter was also amazing—friendly, hardworking, and kind.

As a family, we felt truly supported and cared for throughout the trek. I can’t imagine doing this adventure with any other company. If you are planning to trek in Nepal, I 100% recommend Safe Holiday Adventure Pvt. Ltd. and especially Santosh. He’s not just a guide—he’s a friend and a mountain soul who genuinely loves sharing the beauty of his country.

Thank you, Santosh, for giving us the experience of a lifetime! We’ll definitely be back for another adventure with you and Safe Holiday Adventure.

With gratitude,

An Unforgettable and Inspiring Annapurna Base Camp Trek with Safe Holiday Adventure

The Annapurna Base Camp trek with Safe Holiday Adventure was a beautiful experience. The scenery changed every day — rice fields, rhododendron forests, and high snowy peaks. I especially loved the view from Machapuchare Base Camp just before reaching ABC. The company arranged everything perfectly: permits, transport, lodges, and meals. Our guide was kind and always checked if we were okay. The weather was cloudy at times, so that we couldn’t see the mountains every day, but when the sky opened, it was magical. I also appreciated how the team respected the local culture and supported local tea houses. Overall, it was a relaxing and inspiring journey-
