From airport pickup to the last goodbye, they took care of everything

2 to 26 September 2026

From the moment I landed, I felt looked after. A team member was waiting at the airport with my name on a sign, and the drive to the hotel was easy and friendly. The hotel was clean and comfortable, which helped after a long flight. I never had to wonder what came next.

The evening before we left, the team gave us a clear briefing on the route, altitude, packing, and what to expect each day. They checked our gear and answered every question, even the small ones. I started the trek feeling prepared rather than nervous.

The flight to Lukla was exciting, with mountains outside the window and a short, dramatic landing. From there the trail took us through green valleys, suspension bridges, prayer wheels and Sherpa villages. Over 11 days of walking, the scenery kept changing, and every day felt different.

Santosh was the reason this trek went so smoothly. He set a steady pace, checked on all ten of us every day, and reminded us to drink water and rest. His calm manner made a big difference on harder days. He also told us stories about Sherpa culture, local traditions and the mountains, so I learned as much as I walked.

Dukpa carried heavy loads over steep, rocky trails and always did it with a smile. He was kind, helpful and always around when someone needed a hand. Because of him I could walk with a light daypack and enjoy the views. Thank you, Dukpa.

A group of ten could have been hard to manage, but the team handled it well. People walked at their own speed, and no one felt rushed or left behind. By the end we felt like friends. The teahouses were simple, warm and clean enough, and the meals were hearty. Dal bhat became my favourite fuel for the long climbs.

Reaching Everest Base Camp was emotional. The air was thin, the wind was cold, and the Khumbu Icefall was right in front of us. We took our photos and stood quietly for a while. I will never forget it, and I could not have done it without this team.

The return to Lukla felt like a victory lap. We walked back with tired legs and happy hearts, then flew to Kathmandu. The team arranged our transfers and ended the trip with the same care they showed on day one.

I would recommend Safe Holiday Adventure to anyone dreaming of Everest. Thank you, Santosh Gauli, Dukpa, and the whole team, for making my first Himalayan adventure so special.
