Day 01: Drive from Pokhara to Banthanti (2,210 m), then trek to Ghorepani (2,840 m): (3 hrs. Drive & 4 hrs. Walk)
Poon hill trek starts from Pokhara. Today we take an early drive straight to Banthati passes Nayapul, Birethanti, Thikhedunga, and Ulleri. It is a 3-hour drive from Pokhara to Banthanti. After reaching there, we take a short break, and we take Lunch.
Now we are walking into the forest of orchid and Rodhodensdron for 2 Hours. Next, after 2 hours of walk, we reach Nange Thanti. We continue on a stone-made steep through the forest for an Hour to Ghorepani. We stay in Ghorepani tonight.
Day 02: Early morning hike to Pun Hill (3,210 m) and trek descent to Hille, after that drive to Pokhara (1,920 m): (4 -5 Hrs. Walk & 2 Hrs. Drive)
Today we are heading up to Pun hill view station early morning. It is a 50-minute hike from Ghorepani to Pun hill. The view is just indescribable over the huge Annapurna and Dhaulagiri range. We probably spent about 30 minutes for a spectacular sunrise view, then trek down to Hille.
This morning you will have a wonderful time at the Pun hill after that, we retrace the step until Banthanti. We can stop for a short break there and trek steep descent to Hille. It is where we finish our proper walk, and we take the jeep to Pokhara.
Day 1: Bus drives from Pokhara to Nayapul and trek to Hille (1,500 m): 2 Hrs. Drive & 3 Hrs. Walk)
Today we start our trip from Pokhara in a private car/jeep to Nayapul. It is a 2-hour drive throughout the mountains. From Nayapul, we wear outfits and trek into the valley of the Modi Khola. Just 20 minutes of easy walk along the river, we reach Birethanti.
At Birethanti, all trekkers have to enter their permit and TIMs permit, then we cross a bridge over Modi Khola and trek on the left trail. The trail now climbs along with the steam and beautiful terrace field and passes some typical Local Houses.
It is an easy day. There will be plenty of local restaurants to stop for tea/coffee, Lunch, and Snacks, so it is all your choice. The most place for Lunch is Ramgai on the first day, then an hour walk on a wide road to Hille. We stay overnight in the lodge.
Day 2: Hille to Ghorepani (2,820 m): 6 hours walk
Day two is relatively a difficult day than day first. Because we have to walk about 6 hours on ascending trails. However, the trails from the hill to Ghorepani are more natural, less dusty, and forestry.
Trek from Hille to Ulleri is about 2 hours walking, but very steep without shadow. It is short but challenging. After Ulleri village, the trail is gradual upon the cliff of the Mountain. From Ulleri, the next town is Banthati, which is 45 minutes in the distance.
At Banthanti we eat Lunch and trek towards Nangethanti through the forest. The trail is so tranquil after Lunch place. People split out from Banthani because every trekker stops in a different place for lunch so that will be peaceful.
You are suggested to have enough drinking water after crossing Banthanti because there are no shops to buy. Further, we trek to Ghorepani through the rhododendron forest via Banthati. It is 3 hours walk after lunch. We stay in Ghorepani tonight.
Day 3: Ghorepani – Pun hill – Banthanti then drives to Pokhara.
Today we have an early walk for a sunrise view from Poon Hill. We take a small bag filled with a bottle of water, an energy bar, a camera some local currency. Trek, Ghorepani to Poon Hill is just stone made steep through the small forest, takes 50 minutes. Poon hill is the main spot to witness the gigantic Annapurna and Dhaulagiri Mountains.
After an unbelievable time at Poon hill, we retrace the step to Ghorepani for Breakfast. The next, from Ghorepani our descent down to Banthanti. We manage our transport there and drive to Pokhara
Day 01: Drive from Pokhara Hotel to Nayapul then, hike to Hille, Thikhedunga (1,470 m/1,530 m)
Trek begins from Pokhara. We have about 2 hours of drive today to Nayapul. Further, we follow popular trails towards Birethanti. We check in the ACAP permits and TIMs card here then continue to walk along the stream in the left valley.
Today, we will have a pleasant day passing all fresh and natural atmospheres. It is 3 hours of walk-in total on a road. During our trek today, we are in the valley between two massif green hills filled with seasonal crops. Today, you can observe so many highlights about the country life of Nepal.
We will stay in the lodge. The lodges are mostly built of wood and local technology; however, you can have a private room to sleep in.
Day 02: Hille to Ghorepani (2,840 m): 6 Hour walk
On the 2nd day, we trek early in the morning to reach Ghorepani. It is quite a long ascent through the forest. The trail is quite steep until Ulleri (2,070 m), then a short gradual walk to Banthanti.
We will get a chance to see some colorful local houses and terraced fields along the trail. Further up, we trek to Ghorepani via Nangethanti through the peaceful forest. If you are lucky may see some wild animals before reaching Ghorepani.
Ghorepani is like a meeting point for trekkers. It is big settlements populated mostly by my pun Magar. We spent a night there in a local lodge.
Day 03: Pun hill hike in the morning, then head down to Tadapani (2,600 m)
Today is your exciting day on this trip. We hike up to the viewpoint- Pun hill (3,210 m) in the morning to a dazzling sunrise view. Poon hill is situated on the top of the mountain from where; you can observe a 360-degree view of the entire Mountain range of central Nepal. It is the most popular sunrise spot in Nepal.
After an incredible time at pun hill, we go back to Ghorepani for breakfast and we trek to continue towards Tadapani. Our destination is Tadapani today.
As we start the trek from Ghorepani, we ascent slowly to the hill station. From the top of that hill, you get an opportunity again to witness the stunning high mountain peaks, plus the rolling green hills to the other side.
Trek goes ahead through the ridge now for an hour, then we reach Deurali. There are two small tea Houses. Now the route drops down to Banthanti via fir, orchid, and rhododendron forest. We take lunch and Banthanti then an hour walk to Tadapani.
Tadapani is a small area situated on the ridge of the mountains. The Annapurna south and fishtail mountains are very close to Tadapani.
Day 04: Tadapani to Si-WI via Ghandruk then drive to Pokhara.
Today we are going to finish our trek successfully, which means the last day of this trek.
We take an early food in the lodge of Tadapani and we start trek to Siwi. The First 1-hour trek from Tadapani is very easy to go through the forest on a gradual path. After that, we trek steep down via Bhaisikharka and again gradual walk to Ghandruk.
Tadapani to Ghandruk is an easy walk through the forest that takes 3 hours. We take lunch at Ghandruk village. It is the largest Gurung community in Nepal. From Ghandruk, we trek steep down to Siwi to get the Bus /Jeep to Pokhara.
The last 1 Hour of the walk is pretty hot today, but you can admire such an incredible view. Eventually, you take a jeep/bus from Siwi to Pokhara via Nayapul.
Today, after reaching Pokhara, you can have a wonderful evening with your local guide and porter.
The Ghorepani Pun hill trek is in the Annapurna Region, and It is in the central North of Nepal. You should have two different permits to hike to Ghorepani Pun Hill.
The Ghorepani pun hill permit costs 3,000 Nepali rupees and TIMs cost 1,000 Nepali rupees per person (20 US for individual trekkers). So, if you are trekking through the agency, you have no pressure about this permit because they will make it for you.
If you trek alone without a guide or porter, you should buy a permit from Nepal Tourism board Brikutimandap, in the same vein Dam-side in Pokhara. And TIMs card obtains from Thamel in Kathmandu and Dam-side in Pokhara.
The best time to Ghorepani Poon hill trek is in the spring season (March to May). According to some experienced mountain guides, the Poon hill trek is best during the spring season. Because you can get clear skies, more Greenery, stable weather, Warm temperature, and flowering Rhododendron.
Throughout the year any month, you can trek to Ghorepani because it is an easy hike with a low elevation near Pokhara. If you can manage your holiday during spring is the best, if not autumn (Sep- end of Nov). However, this trek can be done any time, any season, and any month in a year.
Trekking to Ghorepani Pun hill route is so crowded during spring and autumn season hence, make sure your accommodations are pre-booked.

Be assured, in the mountain you get normal food and a few different items so that don’t expect high.
In the lodge, there are quite some people during peak season so before 5 pm they want your dinner order, Because, there are just a few people in the kitchen. More or less, there serve some western, Chinese, Nepali, and Indian food.
So you have quite some choices for food. The vegetable and egg items foods are recommended. Sometimes sensitive stomachs may acquire problems from meat item foods.
