Ghorepani Poon hill trekking detailed Itinerary:

Day 1: Nayapul to Ulleri(6400 feet/1960 m)

Walking Duration: 5 hrs: Distance: 13 Km

Pokhara to Nayapul distance: 42 km

Nayapul to Ulleri: 5 hours walking

Lunch Place: Ramghai/Sudame

OverNight: Tea House at Ulleri Village

We Begin our day after breakfast in Pokhara then drive to  Nayapul for an hour and a half. Nayapul is a popular place where hundreds of trekkers begin the trek every day.

Our first day walking was quite short and easy going through the local typical house, along the river and some suspension bridges. We mostly follow the off-road today which was gradually uphill. After 2 hours of walking, we stop for lunch at Ramgai restaurant is after passing Birethanti in the valley their we had local Nepali food Dhalbhat it was just awesome taste and really fresh curry from the field as Dhalbhat is a popular dish in Nepal where You can get a bowl of soup, veg curry, Pickle, Papadam, plain rice all in one big plate but comes separately. In Nepa,l if you are having Dal Bhat you can refill it and can eat as much rice, Dhal, curry as you can eat for about 3 to $7 US, it depends.

After lunch,  we had to walk continue on an off-road about 2  & half hours to reach Ulleri village, as it is beautiful Magar area and also the wonderful view to see snow peaks already.  After arriving in Ulleri village we found one local lodge from where we could see some mountains. The Accommodation charge is really cheap about $5 US to $10 US for a twin sharing bedroom.

We had also dinner at the same lodge where we were staying as they have shortened rules in the area that you should eat at the same lodge we are staying otherwise we have to pay the penalty that makes sense though because the rooms are cheap and locals get some money from the food. If you are trekking anywhere in Nepal in tea house trekking you better not use your own food rather than buying from the lodge.  The locals become upset and angry if you bring your own food and eat in the dining so that if you have some food you can, of course, eat but besides that have to eat also from the hotel to respect them or if you have any problem can’t eat just tell them your reality.

Drinking water is easily available along the way even mineral water till Thikhedunga then after they just sell Jar water, you just pay 60 Nepali rupees for one liter.

Water was available for re-fill for 60 Rupees per liter.

The lodges close quite early as they have some early work the next day so you better at your dinner before 8 pm and order before 5 pm as they rules. The trekking day was about 5 hours but just a wonderful walking day through the village.

We woke up quite early today to see some beautiful mountains such as Annapurna South, Machhapuchhre(Fishtail), Hiunchuli, and many green Rolling hills and valleys. We had some food at the same lodge we stayed in and begin our trek uphill. Today we had to walk also about the same time 5 to 6 hours but was easy to walk for relatively than yesterday after passing Banthati Village which was about an hour walk from Ulleri to reach Banthati so we pass Banthati then we follow the stone made a steep trail through the forest of Rhododendron and oak, we walked straight up about hour then gradually uphill to reach Nangethati where we stopped for lunch there was a couple of tea houses. We could have so many different foods as they menu and had so many different tastes of food we choose friend noodles which is not so heavy after lunch to walk than the local lady cooked very well and she was friendly too, it was just a lovely lunch and rest we then continue our walk again into the forest for about an hour and a half walk we reach Ghorepani village, it is located at the top of hill junction awe could see many snow peaks already.

At Ghani village, we stopped and found one great lodge we stayed there that night and also we could at the same place we had some local food but still we could eat some western food but we prefer to eat local food, it was nice and fresh. Relatively Ghorepani is a very cold place but we could see a magical view of more ten 10 peaks from your lodge. If you have something to buy that you missed buying such as a warm hat, water bottles, sandals, books, battery, etc you can buy it at Ghorepani there are few stores where they sell all of them.

We had to weak really early today to see the sunrise view from poon hill because from the lodge where we slept we had to walk about an hour steep climb to reach at poon hill viewpoint which is located at 3210 m.

It was quite difficult to wake up at 4.30 am for sunrise but once we started to walk we could see hundreds of people also going up to poon hill that scenario inspire us to walk.

After 50 minute walk, we reach Poon hilltop and we could see already so many peaks including massif Dhaulagiri (8167 m) and Annapurna (8091 m). it was just a clear morning so that we could see the magical view and golden sunrise over The peaks, it was my first time to see such a view from this close-up distance.

The trail after Deaurali was just downhill but smoothly. Trekking from Deurali to Banthati was not really easy to walk as it was quite slippery and damp even some sections were covered by old ice. When we reach Banthati we Stop there for lunch and had warm Lunch, rest an hour then continue to walk the next 1 and a half hours to Tadapani. The last 35 minutes before we reach Tadapani we had climbed steep but it is a short climb.

The trail is mostly downhill today through the forest till Ghandruk which is about 3 hours walk then we stop for Lunch. We can have lunch and some rest at Ghandruk then we continue to walk downhill for about 2 to 3 hours through the beautiful terrace field, and Local houses.

We walked for about 5 hours today and stayed at Sywaulibazaar but if you have a short time you can skip Sywulibazaar and the same day you can go to Pokhara but we decided to stay at Swyulibazaar because compare to Pokhara it is quiet and we are with nature still, it was just a lovely night we had at Sywulibazaar their we had swimming at Modi river Which was just very close to the lodge we stayed.

Day 5: Trek From Syulibazar to Nayapul then drive to Pokhara.

Walking duration: 1.30 hrs: 5 km

Driving distance: Nayapul to Pokhara(42

km)

Overnight: Pokhara Hotel

We began our trek after breakfast. On day 5th we had to walk very short about 2 hours maximum on an off-road which was along the river. After reaching Nayapul we had a taxi drive back to Pokhara.
