Upon reaching Kande, we begin our trek towards Rest Camp (also known as Australian Camp). The trail ascends through lush forests and charming villages. Enjoy the serenity of the surroundings and the distant views of the Annapurna and Manaslu ranges. After a moderate trek of around 4-5 hours, we arrive at Rest Camp, where we spend the night in a cozy lodge.
Today’s trek is an exhilarating experience as we trek from Rest Camp to High Camp. The trail leads us through rhododendron forests and alpine meadows, presenting stunning views of Machhapuchhre (Fishtail) and Mardi Himal. The ascent becomes more challenging as we gain altitude, and the air gets thinner. Take it slow and enjoy the breathtaking landscapes that unfold before you. After approximately 5-6 hours of trekking, we reach High Camp, a picturesque settlement with panoramic mountain views. Spend the night in a teahouse, soaking in the tranquility of the Himalayas.
This day offers more spectacular mountain vistas as we descend from High Camp to Sidding Village. The trail passes through dense forests and lush greenery, and we might encounter various Himalayan bird species along the way. Enjoy the company of the friendly Gurung people in Sidding Village and immerse yourself in their traditional lifestyle. The trek takes around 6-7 hours, and we stay overnight in a teahouse in Sidding.
On the final day of our trek, we say goodbye to the mountains and head back to Pokhara. The trail gradually descends through terraced fields, charming villages, and peaceful forests. Capture the last glimpses of the mountains and relish the memories of the adventure you’ve experienced. Once we reach Lumre, we take a private vehicle back to Pokhara, where you can rest and rejuvenate after the trek. Spend the evening exploring the lakeside area and enjoying the stunning views of Phewa Lake and the surrounding hills.

Like most trekking routes in Nepal, you will need two permits to trek in the Mardi Himal region:
TIMS (Trekkers’ Information Management System) card: This is required for all trekkers and can be obtained in Kathmandu or Pokhara. It helps authorities keep track of trekkers in the region.
Annapurna Conservation Area Permit (ACAP): This permit is specifically for trekking in the Annapurna Conservation Area and can also be obtained in Kathmandu or Pokhara.
The trek usually starts and ends in Pokhara, a beautiful city in Nepal known for its lakes and mountain views. To reach Pokhara, you can take a short domestic flight from Kathmandu or opt for a scenic bus ride that takes around 6-8 hours.
During the trek, you’ll find teahouses and lodges along the trail that offer basic but tasty meals. The food options might be somewhat limited compared to urban areas, but you can still find a variety of dishes like dal bhat (rice with lentil soup), noodles, momo (dumplings), and more. Be sure to try some of the local delicacies and don’t forget to carry some energy snacks like granola bars, nuts, and chocolate for the trek.
It’s essential to stay hydrated during the trek. While bottled water is available at the teahouses, it’s better for the environment and more cost-effective to bring water purification tablets or a water filter. You can refill your water bottles at the teahouses or use natural water sources, but always purify it before drinking.
